The Next Generation
Each year as the preparations for the trip begin, I look back at the history of the trip and think there is no way people are going to want to go to the Bahamas anymore. We've been doing this for 11 years, and we've had over 200 people attend the trip. Has the trip run its course? Are there any more kids interested in doing this? Just when I think, "Well, it was a good run," I get amazed by the incredible turnout at the meetings. So many new faces - from the freshman who have been waiting for years to go, to friends of previous trip members who want to get in on the fun. After the dust settled, the team is up to 36 people - 21 newbies. That's the most new people in one year we've ever had! Sometimes there can be problems that arise from all of these new members, but I've learned to turn that over to someone who is better equipped for problem solving. Looking forward to seeing what great things are planned for us this summer. God is good!
